1.Origin
Shellac is excreted by shellac insects that grow in the shellac trees. The main products of shellac are : piece shellac, color shellac, bleached shellac and shellac red pigment.
2.Characteristic
(1) It is transparent, has no odor, no poison.
(2) Good capability of fixing color, strong plasticity, strong conglutination, coating dries quickly.
It is insoluble in water and acid, soluble in organic solution such as alcohol.
It resistant to ultraviolet radiation, hydrocarbon such as oil.
It is a good insulation for its low coefficient of expansion.
